What are the requirements for public screening of my film?

Films will need to be classified by the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB). It costs Ksh.10 per minute. The production would then be classified accordingly and a certificate issued.

What is needed in order to get a license?

A film license must be ordered through a licensed film agent. Film agents can apply for the licenses through the Department of Film Services.

For a Feature Film/Drama
Fill out an application from the Department of Film Services and attach one copy of the script and a story synopsis. License is issued within two days of application

For a Documentary
Fill out an application form. License is issued immediately.

How much does a film license cost?

The film license for Documentaries, Dramas, Short features Ads and stills costs Ksh.5000
The film license for Full length feature films and reality TV shows costs Ksh.15, 000
There is also an extra Ksh. 1000 a day for filming on location
